Explanatory Relations Based on Mathematical Morphology
نویسندگان
چکیده
Using mathematical morphology on formulas introduced recently by Bloch and Lang (Proceedings of IPMU’2000) we define two new explanatory relations. Their logical behavior is analyzed. The results show that these natural ways for defining preferred explanations are robust because these relations satisfy almost all postulates of explanatory reasoning introduced by Pino-Pérez and Uzcátegui (Artificial Intelligence, 111:131–169, 1999). Actually, the first explanatory relation is Explanatory-Rational. The second one is not even ExplanatoryCumulative but it satisfies new weak postulates.

A fuzzy extension of explanatory relations based on mathematical morphology
In this paper, we build upon previous work defining explanatory relations based on mathematical morphology operators on logical formulas in propositional logics. We propose to extend such relations to the case where the set of models of a formula is fuzzy, as a first step towards morphological fuzzy abduction. The membership degrees may represent degrees of satisfaction of the formula, preferen...
متن کاملThe machine learning process in applying spatial relations of residential plans based on samples and adjacency matrix
The current world is moving towards the development of hardware or software presence of artificial intelligence in all fields of human work, and architecture is no exception. Now this research seeks to present a theoretical and practical model of intuitive design intelligence that shows the problem of learning layout and spatial relationships to artificial intelligence algorithms; Therefore, th...
متن کاملExplanatory relations in arbitrary logics based on satisfaction systems, cutting and retraction
The aim of this paper is to introduce a new framework for defining abductive reasoning operators based on a notion of retraction in arbitrary logics defined as satisfaction systems. We show how this framework leads to the design of explanatory relations satisfying properties of abductive reasoning, and discuss its application to several logics. This extends previous work on propositional logics...
متن کاملTopological Relations Between Bipolar Fuzzy Sets Based on Mathematical Morphology
In many domains of information processing, both vagueness, or imprecision, and bipolarity, encompassing positive and negative parts of information, are core features of the information to be modeled and processed. This led to the development of the concept of bipolar fuzzy sets, and of associated models and tools. Here we propose to extend these tools by defining algebraic relations between bip...
متن کاملIntegrating Bipolar Fuzzy Mathematical Morphology in Description Logics for Spatial Reasoning
Bipolarity is an important feature of spatial information, involved in the expression of preferences and constraints about spatial positioning or in pairs of opposite spatial relations such as left and right. Another important feature is imprecision which has to be taken into account to model vagueness, inherent to many spatial relations (as for instance vague expressions such as close to, to t...
